SAIC Motor to support China Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai

SAICMotor became astrategic partner oftheChina Pavilion at Expo 2020Dubai, according to a road show event on China’s participation in the exposition on July 30.

The company said itwill actively support the construction of the China Pavilion, build a dedicated booth for the company, andintroducetheconcept of“smart travel”by showcasing some of the cutting-edgetechnologieslike the5G, C-V2X and artificial intelligence tothe visitors.

During the Shanghai Expo in 2010, SAIC Motor used the platform to spread the concept of green and sustainable development of the modern automobile industry. As a global partner of 2010 Expo, SAIC Motor had built and operated a car museum which showed a blueprint for the future urban intelligent transportation system, attracting more than 2 million visitors. Meanwhile, the company also provided 1,125 new energy vehicles (NEVs) for public transportation and VIP reception. It was the world’s largest pilot operation of NEVs of various types at that time.

Participation in the Expo 2020 Dubai will be a good opportunity for SAICMotorto accelerate its overseas business development and establish an international brand. It will also effectively promote all-round cooperation between China and the Arabiancountries. In recent years,the company isactivelypromoting theBelt and Road Initiativeand expanding its overseas businesses. It has built a full-scaleoverseasvaluechain,including innovative R&D centers, production bases, marketing centers, supply chain centers and financial companies. In 2018, SAICMotor exporteda total of 277,000 vehicles, ranking the first in among China’s car makersfor three consecutive yearsandaccounting for 23% of overseas salesofChinese brands.One of its six overseas marketswith sales of over10,000automobiles isthe Middle East marketinDubai. The company’s marketing service center for the region is also based in the city.
