'Panda China' Exhibition to be unveiled at Expo 2020 Dubai

RoadShow (Beijing)onChina’s Participation inExpo2020 Dubaiwas held inthe ExpoParkof the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition.During Expo 2020 Dubai,"Panda China"Exhibition will be unveiledatChina Pavilion to showcase China's unique panda culture and achievements intheconservationandresearchfor giantpanda as well asecological construction.

The Expo 2020 will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from October 2020 to April 2021, at which the China Pavilion will be unveiled. China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda and National Endangered Wildlife Germplasm Gene Protection Center of Zhejiang University signed a cooperation agreement on July 30th to exhibit giant pandas in the China Pavilion.

Feng Yaoxiang, Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of the China Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai and Minister of Trade and Investment Promotion of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said thatthegiant panda exhibitionwould be unveiled atChina Pavilion to show the world what China hasachieved in the protection and researchforgiant pandas.

Zhang Hemin,ExecutiveDeputyDirector ofChina Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda, said that since the founding of the People's Republic of Chinain 1949, giant panda has been the symbol of China andalso served asthe most affable"ambassador of friendship."Pandahas helped deepenrelations between China and the rest of the worldand draw closerChinese and foreign people.

“The Giant Panda Exhibition will be unveiled at China Pavilion,showingthe innovativeachievements and protectiveachievements of China intheconservationandresearchforgiant pandasand ecological construction, embodyingthe concept of harmonious coexistence between human beings and nature, and complementingthe story ofChinese and foreign cultural exchanges and mutual understanding," Zhang said.

Giant pandas play an important role in protecting biodiversity and maintaining natural ecological balance. China has effectively protected giant pandas and their habitats by implementing a series of major ecological projects over the years.

According to Zhang Hemin, 67 giant panda nature reserves have been establishedin China;the number of wild giant pandas has reached 1,864; the pilot project of the“Giant Panda National Park” with an area of about 27,000 square kilometershas beenprogressing orderly;up to 548giant pandas are in captivity at a global level.

In addition, China has unremittingly explored the giant panda's wild reintroduction and return to nature. Eleven giant pandas have been released to the wild. Moreover, major technological breakthroughs have been made. China has carried out scientific research cooperation with 23 zoos in 19 countries to continuously improve the protection capacity for endangered species.
