The International Horticultural Exposition 2006 Shenyang, themed"We Coexist Harmoniously with Nature," was held from May 1 to Oct. 31, 2006.

The Shenyang Expo Park is located in the Qipan Mountain Scenic Area, a picturesque recreation resort. Covering an area of 246 hectares, it had 53 domestic exhibition gardens, 23 international gardens and 24 specialized ones. A bird island, with an area of 5.6 square kilometers, was also set up in the park to showcase the ecological environment for birds.
