With the theme of“Humankind-Nature-Technology: A New World Arising,” the Expo 2000 Hanover put focus on the harmony among humankind, nature and technology. It called on people all over the world to tap into their great potential to shape the future while following the law of sustainable development.

The Expo was featured with the idea of sustainable development and resource protection all the way, from site selection and layout to its landscape planning and the design of exhibition architecture. At the Expo Park, one could not only enjoy the picturesque landscape, but also visit pavilions that demonstrated modern science and technology and embodied different cultures.

Since its opening in June 2000, the China Pavilion had attracted over 2.5 million visitors, accounting for a quarter of the total number. The China Pavilion was one of the most popular pavilions at this Expo.
