The China Pavilion at theExpo 2005 Aichiinterpreted Chinese culture and Chinese spirit in an artistic way. It was not a traditional exhibition from the perspective of exhibition space and visual effects. Rather than a display for didactic purposes, it was more like a piece of installation art or an art workshop in which audiences could experience and feel Chinese spirit and culture by themselves.

The overall design of the China Pavilion was inspired by the traditional Chinese culture featuring"the harmony between man and nature, returning to nature, and showing respect for nature." Designers constructed a dynamic, three-dimensional and open space to showcase the traditional humanistic philosophy about the circle of life.
