China Pavilion at Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea

The Expo 2012 was held inYeosu,aseaside cityinSouth Korea from May12to Aug. 12.TheChina Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), entrusted by the State Council and alongwith the State Oceanic Administration, had co-organizedthecountry’s participation in the event as well as the building of theChina Pavilion.

Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the State Council, the guidance of the Chinese Embassy in Korea, the Consulate General in Gwangju and Busan, and with the joint efforts of the CCPIT, the organizing committee of the China Pavilion, the State Oceanic Administration and 11 coastal provinces and municipalities, the China Pavilion had showcased unique exhibitions, organized various successful activities and events, and introduced China’s marine development to the outside world.

Standing out from more than 100 exhibitors, the Pavilion had won the gold award for Creative Display, the highest award of the Expo. This was the first time that the China Pavilion had grabbed the top award since 2005.

Themed on“One Ocean, One Home,” the China Pavilion conveyed to the world China’s unremitting efforts in scientific exploration of the ocean, environmental protection, and building harmonious coexistence between the man and nature. It also played an important role in promoting public diplomacy, introducing the Chinese culture, increasing friendly relations with other countries, and enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation.
