On the morning of Aug. 24, the launching ceremony of Road Show (Guangdong) on China's Participation in Expo 2020 Dubai was held at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Conference Center during the 2019 Guangdong 21^st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo. One hundred and eighty guests attended the ceremony, including Zhang Shenfeng, vice president of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and general government representative of China Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, Wen Guohui, mayor of Guangzhou Municipal Government, He Jingtang, general consultant for the design of China Pavilion, Rahman Ben Aboul Rahamane Shamhi, consul general of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Guangzhou, Chen Zhiying, executive vice mayor of Guangzhou Municipal Government, Chen Jie, secretary general of Guangzhou Municipal Government, as well as representatives of Chinese and foreign enterprises, cooperative units of Expo 2020 Dubai and China Pavilion, and representatives of the consulates general of the relevant countries in Guangzhou.

Zhang Shenfeng said in his speech that UAE is located at the intersection of the Belt and Road Initiative, thus serving as a natural partner in jointly building Belt and Road Initiative with China. The theme of Expo 2020 Dubai is"Connecting Minds, Creating the Future," which is highly consistent with the important goals of policy coordination, facilities connectivity, unimpeded trade, financial integration, and people-to-people bond in Belt and Road Initiative. Road Show (Guangdong) on China's Participation in Expo 2020 Dubai was held during the 2019 Guangdong 21^st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo, fully demonstrating that China's good wishes and firm confidence to take Expo 2020 Dubai as an opportunity to promote the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Chen Zhiying, executive vice mayor of Guangzhou government, proposed that at present, Guangzhou is actively participating in the Belt and Road Initiative and making every effort to promote the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He expected that more entities and enterprises to participate in Expo 2020 Dubai to further deepen bilateral exchanges and make new and great contributions to the Belt and Road Initiative, thus promoting the development of both countries. Guangzhou is willing to have trade connectivity and financial exchanges with Dubai, strengthen communication in"Connecting Minds", and work hand in hand on"Creating the Future" to create a better tomorrow featuring win-win cooperation.

Rahman Ben Aboul Rahamane Shamhi, consul general of UAE in Guangzhou, said that the friendly Sino-UAE relations have a long history and rich fruits. President Xi Jinping visited UAE in July 2018, promoting the two countries to formally establish a strategic cooperative partnership. Expo 2020 Dubai will be a grand event in the Arab world, through which UAE hopes to strengthen ties between countries and promote human thinking about the future."Expo 2020 Dubai will be a very good platform for China and other exhibitors. May China Pavilion achieve great success," he said.

Ruan Wei, deputy director of the Trade and Investment Promotion Department of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, introduced the progress of preparations for China Pavilion and announced the launch of official website (www.expochina2020.org) of China Pavilion. Ao Yan, secretary general of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangdong Committee, introduced Guangdong's participation in China Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. Wang Rui, deputy director of the Exhibition Department of China Chamber of International Commerce, gave a briefing on the market development of China Pavilion. Zhang Shenfeng, vice president of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, awarded licenses to the third batch of cooperative enterprises and media of China Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. Qingdao Haier Air Conditioner Electronics Co., Ltd. has become the official partner of China Pavilion. Sinotrans Limited, MACO Group Co., Ltd., Elegant Living Co., Ltd., and Ketyoo Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. have become the designated suppliers of China Pavilion, and China Business Network (CBN) has become the media partner of China Pavilion.

The road show will be held from Aug. 23 to 25, exhibiting contents including the history of the World Expo, the history of China's participation in the World Expo, the design and virtual effects of Expo 2020 Dubai, China Pavilion and other key foreign pavilions at Expo 2020 Dubai, and the introduction of the Partners of China Pavilion. The Expo will be promoted to the public via video, image, text and audience interaction.
