UAE vice president visits China Pavilion of Expo 2020 Dubai

The China Pavilion of Expo 2020 Dubai opened in Dubai on Oct 1 local time. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, crown prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of the Expo 2020 Dubai higher committee, president of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline visited the China Pavilion.

They were accompanied by Zhang Shenfeng, commissioner general of the China Pavilion and vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Ni Jian, Chinese ambassador to the UAE, and Li Xuhang, Chinese consul general in Dubai. 

The China Pavilion is the first national pavilion visited by Sheikh Mohammed after the opening of the Dubai Expo. He is also the first foreign leader received by the China Pavilion.  

The visitors first watched a video speech delivered by Chinese President Xi Jinping for the China Pavilion, and then visited exhibits on China's BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, Fuxing bullet train simulated cockpit, smart city, driverless new energy concept vehicles, sea rice developed by the“father of hybrid rice” Yuan Longping and his team, panda-shaped robots, etc. Sheikh Mohammed praised the China Pavilion’s rich and wonderful exhibitions and expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for its support to the Dubai Expo. 

Sheikh Mohammed visited China in 2019 and held talks with President Xi Jinping, who expressed China's support for the UAE to host the first world expo in the Middle East.
