On October 2 local time, Jai-chul Choi, president of the general assembly of the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE), Alain Berger, president of the executive committee of the BIE and others visited the China Pavilion of the Expo 2020 Dubai.

They were accompanied by Zhang Shenfeng, commissioner general of the China Pavilion and vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

The delegation first watched a video speech delivered by Chinese President Xi Jinping for the China Pavilion. They then visited exhibits about China's BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, and sea rice developed by China’s“father of hybrid rice” Yuan Longping and his team. They experienced Fuxing bullet train simulated cockpit, driverless concept vehicles, and panda-shaped robots. They also watched a themed video on the China Pavilion.

Choi said the China Pavilion and its exhibitions fully embodies the philosophy of innovation-driven development, and mirrors the principle of openness and cooperation, which is in line with the spirit of the Expo. Choi extolled Yuan Longping as a hero who saved tens of millions of people from starvation by successfully developing hybrid rice. Choi also expressed gratitude to China for once again contributing to the development of world expos.
