This Chinese New Year is enveloped in greater joy as the Year of the Tiger coincides with the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. To celebrate the New Year and cheer for the Games, the promotional videos of 2022 CCTV Spring Festival Gala and the Beijing 2022 were displayed in the China Pavilion for visitors from around the world.

As the first World Expo held in the Middle East, the Expo 2020 Dubai has received more than 11 million in-person visits and over 72.5 million virtual visits online. As one of the largest pavilions of the expo, the China Pavilion has attracted nearly 1 million visitors since its opening with its rich elements of science, technology and interaction.

On Jan. 29 local time, the promotional video of 2022 CCTV Spring Festival Gala was played repeatedly on the big screen of the China Pavilion. The Spring Festival travel rush, red lanterns, dumplings, tangyuan, and visiting relatives and friends — the typical scenes of the Chinese New Year presented in the video and the Chinese pavilion whose design draws inspiration from traditional red lanterns, were well matched, giving the Expo Park a festive atmosphere and arousing the Spring Festival fervor in the Chinese living in Dubai.

There were many Chinese people among the visitors. A Chinese visitor told the reporter she was so touched that she would come to the China Pavilion to watch the Spring Festival Gala on Chinese New Year’s Eve.

Many foreign visitors were also attracted by the scenes and music of the videos.

An Egyptian tourist said the China Pavilion was full of vigor and joy and the videos were great.

A Swiss tourist liked the atmosphere of the China Pavilion and thought that the Chinese culture has brought surprises to the world.

An Indian child expressed his love for Chinese festivals and food with a thumbs-up.

This Chinese New Year coincides with the Beijing Winter Olympics. The China Pavilion also aired a promotional video of the Games titled “The Winter in Beijing” to cheer for Olympic athletes and winter sports.

To celebrate the Year of the Tiger, the China Pavilion has organized activities such as the “China’s Wandering Elephant Herd” exhibition, Hanfu (traditional Chinese apparel) display, and visiting the “Tree of China,” aiming to present the Chinese culture to more expo visitors.

On the Chinese New Year's Eve falling on Jan. 31, the 2022 CCTV Spring Festival Gala was broadcasted live in the China Pavilion, presenting a lively and splendid cultural feast to visitors from all over the world.
