OnJan.31, 2022, the Chinese New Year's eve,an event entitled“Experience China at theDubai Expo” opened in the China Pavilion of the Expo 2020 Dubai. The event offered“China’sWanderingElephantHerd” exhibition,thelive streamingofpandas’ daily life, a Hanfu(traditional Chinese apparel) display,aHanfu and music show, Spring Festival coupletsdelivery and other activities.
Stories of elephants and pandasdemonstrate China's ecologicalprogress
In 2021, aherd ofwandering wild Asianelephants fromsouthwestern China’sYunnan provincecaught global attention. After their trek ofmore than1,000 kilometers, the elephants returned home under the protection ofrelevant departments and people, creating a world-class spectacle in the history of wildlife conservation.At the plaza outside the China Pavilion, the exhibition“China’sWanderingElephantHerd”reproducedthe loving journey ofthe elephants’departure andreturn.“After watching the exhibition, Ifeel a sense of warmth and am deeply moved by the harmony between man and nature,” said a visitor.
The cute pandas have becomean iconicsymbol of Chinese culture. In cooperation withthe CCTViPanda.com, the Experience Chinaactivity launched a“PandaLiveStreaming” show at the Dubai Expo, invitingglobalvisitors to watch the daily life— eating, sleeping and other lovely acts— of pandas. Theirhappy life has a magical“healing effect” of givingpeoplea sense of warmth and hope amidthe ongoing pandemic. TheiPandaalso produced a well-received show“Giant Pandas SpringFestivalConcert” using special effects.In the show, adorablepandas picked up traditional Chinese instruments such as pipa (Chinese lute),guzheng (Chinesezither) and flute to present a musical feast inChinesestyle for tourists worldwide.
A promotional videoofthe 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15) was also playedduring the event, showing the natural wonders and biodiversity of China's firstbatch ofnational parks, as well as the achievements of China's ecologicalconservation and the harmonybetween man and nature.
