China Pavilion of Expo 2020 Dubai celebrates Fujian Day

Fujian Day of the China Pavilion, the Expo 2020 Dubai was celebrated on Feb. 22. Themed“Auspicious Land of Fujian for Innovation and Win-Win Cooperation,” the event included agreements signing, cultural and tourism trade promotion. The event was held offline with its main venue in Fujian’s capital Fuzhou and online with global livestreaming conducted in two languages and via video link to the China Pavilion in Dubai.

During the event, Fujian Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Baghdad Chamber of Commerce of Iraq established strategic cooperation relations and signed a cooperation framework agreement, and so did Jebel Ali Free Trade Zone of Dubai Port and Fuzhou Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone. Relevant departments of Fujian province promoted Fujian’s construction as a core area of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, scientific and technological innovation and business startups, Fujian’s advantages in industries, economy and trade, as well as its environment, culture and tourism.  

With the main color of red, the China Pavilion featured the culture of blessing (“Fu” in Chinese). The English edition of Fujian’s promotional video for the expo and cartoon posters featuring the culture of blessing were broadcasted on the outdoor screen. A series of short videos about intangible culture including“Treasure – Cultural Heritage in Fujian” and“Symphony of Mountains and Sea,” a commerce and trade promotional short video“Meet in Fujian for Business,” and pictures on Fujian’s achievements in scientific and technological innovation were displayed in the“space corridor” exhibition area of the China Pavilion. The above videos and pictures showcased Fujian’s intangible culture and its achievements in scientific and technological development from different perspectives, and presented a dynamic Fujian in the new era to the world.
