China Pavilion designed based on the shape of a traditional red lantern has become one of the most popular pavilions at the recently concluded Expo 2020 Dubai.

At China Pavilion, a cinema has received wide praise for its innovative presentation and themed film. Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) Dimitri S. Kerkentzes once said that the themed film shows mankind’s exploration of the unknown across time and space and advocates innovation and cooperation.

Sha Xiaolan served as the art director of the themed film. Sha is also director of the Lighting Art Committee of China Institute of Stage Design and chief lighting designer of the opening and closing ceremonies of Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Professor Wang Jing from Beijing Film Academy served as the production director of the film.

The cinema adopted a synchronization control system independently developed by China Film Group Corporation, and homegrown LED screens and lifting machinery. Space shifts are made possible in the cinema through five-screen coordination with curtain lifting, reflecting a concept of“a community of shared future.” Titled“a Shared Dream," the themed film tells an affecting story of Chinese and foreign astronauts working closely together to explore space to realize their dreams together and promote the development of the space industry. The film expresses the common aspiration of humans to explore the unknown, pursue ideals, and build a community with a shared future for mankind.
